I was born in Ada, Oklahoma. From a very early age, I showed an aptitude for creative endeavors and participated in mime, theatre, art and many other diversions. Upon graduating from Liberty Academy in Shawnee, Oklahoma in 1995, I attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University, receiving a B.A. in Theatre from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. From there, I accepted a scholarship to University of Arkansas with a graduate assistantship teaching Acting I and Intro to Theatre at the collegiate level. I have performed in over 150 plays either as an actor, director, writer or producer. From there, I went on to manage the Sapulpa Community Theatre and became a founding member of the Actors Company of Tulsa. In 2006, I founded a social network for creatives called the Tulsa Creative Network. In October 2012, Starr left the Tulsa theatre scene to move to Chicago where he worked with the Strawdog Theatre Company on several performances. Starr currently resides in Marion, Arkansas with his wife, Bonny Lee Hardgrove and their daughters Madeline and Emily. He is the current theatre teacher at the high school and the director of the Marion Performing Arts Center. He is continually seeking his next great adventure.
